Restoring A Farm House & Preserving Our Family's History

Last fall I took over as "custodian" to my Mom's side of the family farmhouse and home plot. Bought in 1943 by my Grandpa and Grandma, Delbert and Anna Lee Rader, for $3,270 along with a couple hundred acres this home was and is the foundation of that branch of my family. Records indicate the house was built in the 1880's making it historical in it's own right.

Of course, with any house of that age significant repairs are needed. And in this case the house sat virtually unused for the last decade or so meaning an even greater investment is needed to restore or upgrade to make sure it's part of the family for another 75 years. My intention is to preserve the house as my family knew it through decades of Christmases in the country and summers in the fields.

In the coming months I will post details and photos of the renewing of this great house. Nothing for sale here just something to share.
